Xibo Adspace

Xibo AdSpace

Open source digital signage game changers Xibo Signage, engaged with us to develop a new brand and website for their latest venture, Xibo AdSpace.

Powering an open source digital signage revolution, Xibo Signage has seen rapid growth since it’s inception in 2004, with multi-national businesses such as Ikea and Samsung choosing to use their sotftware. Noticing a huge increase in the level of customer inquiries for an advertising solution and an opportunity to disrupt the Digital-Out-Of-Home market, the idea for Xibo AdSpace was born.

Brand concept

Flying in the face of convention

Our brief was to deliver a brand concept that flew in the face of traditional digital signage companies. Commonly full of acronyms and often leaving the customer perplexed (and out of pocket), our approach for Xibo Adspace was to be different; no complicated jargon or confusing messaging, just transparent information delivered through the vehicle of an honest and friendly visual identity.

Who are you? Who is your customer? What are you saying to them?

We kicked off the project by exploring key customer segments, what was important to them and how Xibo Adspace would be working with them. Through this exploritory work we developed core values, set the brand positioning and a clear tone of voice; the foundation of all strong brands.

Developing the brand identity

Packing a punch

Initially the logo was developed in sympathy with the existing Xibo brand, but was refined and given its own colour palette to ensure it would stand loud and proud on it’s own.

The team also got to work on developing a visual style. During the exploritory stages of the project, we discovered that it was going to be almost impossible to obtain consistent high quality in-situ images of Digital-Out-Of-Home screens. With practicality in mind and in order to safeguard the integrity of the brand, we developed a concept style that combined photography, illustration and iconography. This strong visual impact approach is flexible enough to ensure all marketing communications can maintain the same high quality look and feel.

The ‘Airbnb’ of digital advertising

Simplicity for customers from start to finish

The online presence was created with simplicity in mind. Targeting 2 key customer groups, display owners and advertisers, we carefully mapped out user journeys for each set, and scoped out what information they would need to be served in order to maximise dwell time and lead conversion. We also closely consulted with the development team who built advertsing booking platform, to help them carry through the brand experience from beginning to end.

Our clear way finding, highlighed calls to action, and eyecatching user interface across all platforms, makes the site a pleasure to use and has transformed the offering into an ‘airbnb for digital advertising’; a key goal for our client.
